These cleverly crafted, whimsical knives were designed by Tetsu Yamashita, a government certified traditional Japanese craftsman, and handmade by Tosa, a traditional Japanese knife crafting company. Asked to make a pencil sharpener with a round head, sickle maker Tetsu Yamashita produced the Sperm Whale Knife, featuring a blunt design engineered for children to sharpen their pencils – a design that inspired two other whale shaped knives for whittling and woodworking. Functional as well as playful, the Whale Knives are hand-forged from steel and can be used for various crafts or to add charm to your lineup of kitchen utensils.
